The train ride to Auschwitz was a horrid and uncertain affair. Nobody knew what was going to happen, and speculation ranged from an innocent contribution to the war effort to rumors of a
savage and deadly place. The trains were crowded; literally packed full of people, who were treated no better than cattle. In this environment, you could expect literally anything from
your fellow passengers, who could be supportive and dependable one moment, only to turn ruthless and savage in the next. Our aim is to capture this confusion and hysteria as the opening
to "Special Treatment".
